Her Story
Born in Mechelen, Belgium on the 10th of May 1948.
Frieda is best known as the owner of Meubelen Frieda (Furniture Frieda), a very popular, high-level shop, featuring classic furniture lines produced in Italy, Portugal, and France, along with her husband, Walter Dockx, an importer and exporter of fine furniture during his professional career.
Prior to this, Frieda had a very interesting and challenging 5-year career as the secretary to the MEDICAL DIRECTOR of Upjohn, later known as Pfizer, in Puurs, the Belgian Provence of Antwerp, until 1975, when she took over the furniture shop that had been owned by her mother. She studied at the Ursulinnen O.L.V. Waver, a congregation of nuns, followed by obtaining a bachelor's Degree called “Diploma of Secretary “
Frieda was also fluent in 5 languages!
Dutch, of course, and French, English, German, and Spanish, then added Italian, which was helpful with negotiations with manufacturers of furniture.
The first symptoms of her disease began in 2018 and she, along with her husband, now reside in a residential care center outside of Mechelen.
A beautiful life, a beautiful wife, a wonderful career, and a wonderful woman, and still beautiful inside and out.
Her flame is still there, just a bit harder to see now, as we all have seen in our own lives with loved ones of our own.
